As promised, Display Overlord v3.0 is now available on the
Open Source page. This release is a total re-write (it's no longer a C plugin) and has a new API that uses more modern REALbasic features, so it's not a simple drop-in replacement for the old plugin. The new APIs make much more sense however, and these changes will facilitate a future Windows port. Speaking of ports; I've dropped Mac OS 9 and PEF Carbon support entirely. This trend away from plugins and away from Mac OS 9/PEF will continue as my older projects are updated.
I also overhauled my documentation system, utilizing client-side scripting to allow the reader to quickly find and focus on a method or property of interest. Check out the
Display Overlord docs online and let me know what ya think. I'll be using this system for all future releases so feedback and bug reports will be appreciated.
